Hair fall is a frustrating problem that many people face, whether due to stress, hormonal changes, or environmental factors. When hair loss becomes severe, it can take a
serious toll on your confidence. While the market is flooded with chemical-rich treatments, sometimes the best remedy is found in traditional wisdom. Enter candlenut (known as
kemiri in Indonesia)—a natural powerhouse long trusted for restoring hair health.
Candlenut is packed with essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals that deeply nourish the scalp and hair follicles. Here is why it remains a go-to remedy for severe hair fall:
Deep Follicle Nourishment: The high concentration of linoleic acid in candlenut penetrates the scalp, strengthening hair roots from within.
Stimulates New Growth: Rich in vitamins E and B, it reactivates dormant hair follicles, encouraging thick and rapid baby hair growth.
Natural Darkening & Shine: Regular use not only stops shedding but also enhances your hair's natural pigment, leaving it glossy, dark, and vibrant.
Anti-Inflammatory Properties: It soothes an irritated scalp, reducing dandruff and creating a healthy environment for hair to thrive.
While you can buy pre-made extracts, making your own fresh candlenut oil at home ensures maximum purity and potency. Follow this simple step-by-step guide:
Prepare the Candlenuts: Take 10 to 15 raw candlenuts and roast or blend them until they are finely crushed.
Extract the Oil: Place the crushed nuts in a pan over medium heat without adding any extra oil. Stir continuously until the natural oil begins to separate and turn a brownish color.
Strain: Let it cool down, then strain the liquid through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a clean glass bottle.
Application: Massage a generous amount of the warm or room-temperature oil directly into your scalp. Leave it on for at least 30 to 60 minutes—or overnight for an intensive
treatment—before washing it out thoroughly with a mild shampoo.
